Taiwanese Nutrition Specialist, Shih-Yi Huang, joins Herbalife's Nutrition Advisory Board - posted by Karine Vignelles

Herbalife Ltd. announced that Taiwanese nutrition expert Shih-Yi Huang, Ph.D. has joined the company’s Nutrition Advisory Board.

The Nutrition Advisory Board is made up of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition, diet and health who educate and train Herbalife Independent Distributors on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by Dr David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There are currently 20 members to the board, representing 17 countries.

Shih-Yi Huang is currently Chairman of Taiwan’s Taipei Medical University, School of Nutrition and Health Sciences. He is also a professor at the University. He is a specialist on human metabolism, with his expertise being on how nutrients can improve mental health. He is also a specialist of vitamins and phytochemicals.

Huang has been published extensively on the usage and effects of the very important Omega-3 fatty acids, as well as other areas of nutrition. He also serves on the boards of the Taiwan Nutrition Society and Taiwan Obesity Society so he is the ideal man to join the Herbalife Nutrition Board!

Huang received his master’s, Ph.D., and postdoctoral training from University of Rhode Island, Department of Food Science and Nutrition.
